Gerina Stevenson is a native of Mexico in the family of Mexican parents Alan Stevenson and Rita Stevenson. Stevenson is Mexican as well as American. At a very young age, her desire to be active in sports was strong. Gerina began playing golf when she was fifteen. Gerina was a graduate of Goddard High School. In high school, she took home the New Mexico golf state tournament. She also played volleyball at the state level. The first time she attended in the University of Texas. In her senior year, she took home the top prize in every single tournament that she played in. In her college career, she was crowned Conference USA individual champion player of the year, and was named UTEP Female Athlete Of The Year.
